Argumentative Essay Samples - Things to Remember When Using Them

Argumentative Essay Samples - Things to Remember When Using ThemArgumentative essay samples can be a valuable addition to any 7th grade student's writing arsenal. And more than likely, they'll come straight from your own writing class. It doesn't take long for an argumentative essay sample to sink in and the first thing you'll see is how persuasive it makes your students look.Argumentative essay samples are all over the place. It would be impossible to list them all here, but we'll talk about a few. The fact is that there are many good ones out there. However, not all of them will be suitable for your class. As an illustration, let's take a look at some of the argumentative essay samples I saw during my second semester of high school. One of the problems I had with them was that they didn't address anything we covered in literature. It was more about persuasive speech. The point wasn't necessarily to make an argument, but to convince the reader that the author's viewpoint was right. T his seems like an odd way to learn how to write, but it's exactly what we learned in art class.Another set of argumentative essay samples included writing essays about important social issues. What I found interesting was that most of the writers didn't know what the issue was. It was all a blur. They were just passing off a claim as fact, when in reality, the issue is just really hard to answer. In fact, if you asked me, I'd say these topics are the most common problems with arguments in 7th grade. Finally, let's talk about another set of argumentative essay samples. These were focused on the virtues of Jesus. Did you know that if a teacher wants to effectively teach this topic, she'll have to include the whole story of the life of Jesus and her interaction with his followers? If she doesn't, her students will have no reason to feel good about the text. The best thing you can do when you're dealing with these types of lessons is to set up a structure that's specific to the lesson, an d give your classroom teachers the freedom to follow their own style. Doing this makes it possible for classroom teachers to fit them into their teaching style. Of course, you also want them to be able to integrate them into the lesson with the same ease as you can.Don't get hung up on the format. Simply look for a layout that makes sense. Your students aren't going to notice the format and don't care about it anyway. It's the content that's important and that should shine through regardless of the formatting. These argumentative essay samples were a helpful tool, but don't use them exclusively. Use them to spice up your classroom discussions. They don't have to be perfect for your students to respond well to them.
